February 23, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Major Ravi is directing a film based on the Kandahar plane hijack incident. Actor Surya has been approached to do the commando role in this film. Major Ravi had earlier directed a film titled Aran that features Jeeva and Mohan Lal in lead roles.

While speaking about this film, he said, “In the year 1999 the Kandahar plane hijack incident shocked the entire globe. Based on this, I have created a fictional plot that is laced with moments which will thrill the audience. Amitabh Bachchan is donning the role of a father of a passenger traveling in this plane. Mohanlal and Surya are donning the role of commandos who retrieve the plane from the hijackers. The shooting of the film is to commence in the month of June or July. We will shoot the film in Afghanistan and Nepal. I am planning to purchase an air plane for the shooting of this film.”

Surya’s is yet to confirm this project and it has been reported that the film is to be shot in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.

Aamir Khan even gifted a laptop to Surya as a token of appreciation for his brilliant performance in the Tamil version. This flick marked as a remarkable entry for the director in Bollywood and now Murugados and Surya are yet again planning to team up for an upcoming venture.

It’s been heard that Murugados will be directing Surya in a bilingual film (Tamil and Telugu) yet to be titled. The film will be produced by Udayanidhi Stalin (Producer of “Kuruvi’ and yet to release Surya’s “Aadhavan’). The flick is expected to hit the floor by March 2010.

Surya celebrates birthday in Cape Town

Here’s the best quote of famous James Dean- “Being an actor is the loneliest thing in the world. You are all alone with your concentration and imagination, and that’s all you have.’ Well, if you need an illustration for an actor who came up disapproving the statement, obviously, it’s SURYA

He isn’t just an actor who focuses merely on acting to deliver best takes on the screens. But is a sort of person who is socially responsible of providing education to more underprivileged children, a lovable family man and more than all a great human being.

Actor Surya who made his debut with “Nerukku Ner’ in 1997 stands upright as an excellent actor. Director Bala’s “Nanda’ happened to be a film that transcended his career to stardom. His other films “Kaakha Kaakha’, “Vel’, “Vaaranam Aayiram, “Ghajini’ and recent release “Ayan’ proved to be box office blockbuster.

Today, Surya celebrates his birthday. But for a great number of fans in Chennai it spells disappointment as he isn’t available here. The actor is busy shooting for K.S. Ravikumar’s “Aadhavan’ in Cape Town. Well, his fans in Chennai are eagerly waiting to receive him on July 27.

Many more happy returns of the day Surya
